If you install the MS-Tools (Word, Excel etc.), you have the Microsoft Fonts in these Apps, but not on your Mac system-wide. This leads to problems if you want to open e.g. a PowerPoint with Numbers, but this PowerPoint has one of these Microsoft Fonts in it, e.g. Consolas. This is a quick Guide how to fix it.

Locate the Fonts

The Fonts are located in the Resources Folder of the App, e.g. the Excel App:

Install

Locate it there and double click. It will open in the Fonts-Collection. Install it…

Use it

It will appear in the user section of the font-collection and can be used system-wide.
